Overview

Organisations with an incident response team and plan save an average of $2.66 million per breach compared to those without (IBM 2023). This programme trains IT and security teams in structured incident response: the NIST incident response lifecycle (Preparation, Detection & Analysis, Containment, Eradication, Recovery, Post-Incident Activity), building an incident response plan, forming a CSIRT (Computer Security Incident Response Team), forensic investigation basics, evidence preservation, communication during incidents, and post-incident review. Participants practice on a simulated cyber attack scenario and leave with a draft incident response plan for their organisation.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the NIST incident response lifecycle.
  • Build and test an incident response plan.
  • Form and manage a CSIRT team.
  • Conduct basic digital forensic investigation and evidence preservation.
  • Manage communications during a cyber incident.
  • Lead a post-incident review and lessons-learned process.

Requirements

  • IT or security background. Familiarity with networking and systems administration.

Why This Course?

Save $2.66M per Breach with an IR Plan

IBM reports organisations with an IR plan save $2.66M per breach. Without a plan, teams panic, evidence is lost, and costs multiply. This programme gives you the plan, the team structure, and the practice — so when an incident happens, you respond with confidence.

Course Value

IR Plan
