Overview
Kanban was born in Toyota assembly lines in the 1940s as a visual pull system to control inventory and work-in-progress. This programme traces its evolution from physical cards on factory floors to digital boards used in agile teams, DevOps pipelines, and government project offices. Participants visit the Toyota factory where Kanban originated before designing their own digital system.
Program Objectives
- Trace the origin and evolution of Kanban from factory to digital.
- Design a Kanban board suited to a project or service environment.
- Apply WIP limits and flow metrics effectively.
