Overview
Shu-Ha-Ri originates in Japanese martial arts and traditional crafts, but has been adopted as a framework for professional development in manufacturing (Toyota), software engineering (Agile/Scrum), and corporate training. This programme teaches HR and L&D professionals how to design competency development pathways that respect the Shu-Ha-Ri progression — preventing the common failure of rushing employees to innovate before they have mastered the fundamentals.
Program Objectives
- Understand the Shu-Ha-Ri model and its application to professional competency development.
- Design a Shu-Ha-Ri based training pathway for a specific role or skill.
- Evaluate existing training programmes for Shu-Ha-Ri alignment.
